Today was an amazing day at Jay. An almost ideal setup occurred to make this a special day.
A few inches fell on Friday with only the Jet running. Then a freak foot of fresh, that was not in the forecast, fell overnight. Only Jay got it and not many people were there to enjoy it.
The Bonnie opened the day with the Tram and Freezer on wind hold making for awesome Tramside runs until those lifts began turning shortly after 11am. Once the party was over Tramside, we made ourselves scarce and found what everyone else forgot.
The lack of crowds ensured we were scoring completely untracked turns right up until the last run (as shown in the picture above). It is three o’clock, do you know where your untracked powder is? I know where it is, and it wasn’t hard to find it at all.
But the best part of today was sharing it with an old skiing bud. Five years later and we picked up right where we left off. Same mountain, same lines, same results.

GOOD ON YA Brother! Looks great.
Best day of the year! Couldn’t believe how light the lines were, great day- see ya at the summit this year?
The lack of lines for a regular Saturday was unreal, let alone a powder Saturday, wow.
Won’t be at the summit, enjoy!
jay was not the only beneficiary, burke picked up 7″ of diamond dust from that little low and I bet there were less people there! fresh tracks up until yesterday afternoon in all marked glades. I picked a great year to retire 🙂
first jay trip coming up on the next snows for me. heck may even hit the pumphouse!
Yea, Big Wave Dave! Way to get at it! Glad to year that Burke got in on the action as well. Still got two vouchers to Burke for later this season, can’t wait to get back there… it has been too long.
